Starting in January and continuing into February, Michael Maher set off with Rev. Jason Woolford, President of Christian Resources International, on a 16 day trip through the Philippines, singing and preaching every day at as many as four locations a day! Equipping pastors, presenting the Gospel to hundreds of government officials and national dignitaries at the capitol building of Batangas, ministering at churches, bible colleges, schools and youth gatherings – even helping at a medical outreach which benefitted dozens of families with free medical care.
February was Michael and Melody’s last month at Oakland Church which had been their home church and ministry base for the past four years. In obedience to the voice of the Lord, Michael and Melody set out with the blessing of Pastor Dominic and Amira Russo, with hearts full of anticipation and expectation to see what God had in store!
In March, the remaining money needed to finish their new album came in from two unexpected sources – you beautiful families know who you are!!! And the Michael Maher Band played somewhere every week of the month including Highland Church of the Nazarene where they glorified the Name and helped raise funds to send the youth group to the Appalachian Mountains to feed hungry families. Shout out to Matt Gilroy for making that event and other dreams a reality – you are such an encouragement to us!
In April, through a night dream, the Holy Spirit led Michael and his family to Floodgate Renewal Fellowship, where Pastor Bill and Clara Bolin welcomed them aboard as the Evangelical Pastors. That month, Michael and a team from Floodgate, went to the Hash Bash in Ann Arbor! It was radically fun loving on people, passing out (clean) brownies, singing songs and sharing the Gospel with everyone they met.
In May the band played outdoors at the ‘OnFire BonFire’ at Church on the Street. Dozens of people showed up to worship God in this unique setting, including the band’s official supplier of pizza, Joe Sugameli, the manager of Jet’s Pizza in Fenton!
In June, Michael, Melody and baby Rowin took a road trip down to Church on the Living Edge in Orlando, FL where alongside J-rus and Bianca Russo, Rick Pino and youth Pastor Mario Hood, they ushered in the atmosphere of heaven through music and prayer.
In July the Michael Maher Band operated in another flavor of ministry, playing American Classics at Fenton’s Music in the Park – the Maher’s hometown. Later the band was informed that it was a record attendance for any Music in the Park the city of Fenton had hosted!
In August the band led people in worship at ‘Let the Eagles Gather’ Conference. It was an incredible night of lifting up God’s Name and the band was also prophesied over by Lou Engle, Wesley&Stacey Campbell and Patricia King all at the same time! It was nuts!!!
September was a HUGE month for the band. They kicked it off with an in-studio concert at 103.5 WMUZ, released their second album, “Hallelu Yah: An Exclamation of Praise”, celebrated by throwing a CD Release Concert AND unveiled their new website michaelmaherband.com.
In October, Rev. Woolford and Michael returned to the Philippines, this time accompanied by Melody and Jason Woolford II. As the special guests at the stadium event, Oktoberpraise, they shared the Gospel, sang songs of Heaven and gave Bibles to over 4000 Filipinos who traveled hours to be there!
In November, the Michael Maher Band’s song ‘Hallelu Yah’ was the #1 song on 103.5 WMUZ’s Top 30 Countdown for three weeks in a row! This was the first time a local, unsigned artist ever had a song make it to #1 – totally the Favor of the Lord!!! On top of this terrific honor, the Lord provided us with a beautiful, brand new trailer!!! ThankYou Jesus for your incredible generosity!!!
In December, along with playing an incredible concert at Life Application Ministries 18th Anniversary service in the Warren Civic Center and another night of Christmas music at Tyrone Covenant’s Jesus Walk, the Michael Maher Band’s song, Hallelu Yah was overwhelmingly voted in as the #1 song of 2014 on 103.5 WMUZ Detroit!!!
Praise You Jesus for a groundbreaking year!!!
